Every great innovation has a story—a journey marked by ambition, challenges, and unexpected breakthroughs. For Smartbot, that journey began as a seven-year dream, filled with numerous ideas, false starts, and moments when the path forward seemed unclear.
Then, one day, everything shifted. While standing on the sidelines of a rugby pitch, my friend Jan casually turned to me and asked, “Why don’t you pitch the Smartbot idea to MTU?” It was a simple suggestion, but it became the spark that set everything in motion.
From that moment on, the concept of Smartbot started to evolve. What began as an idea has now turned into a growing and focused effort to create something truly transformative. Smartbot is more than just an AI project—it’s a vision to reshape how customer service operates in the financial services sector. Though we’re still on the journey to fully realise Smartbot as an advanced emotion-aware AI voice agent, we’ve made incredible progress.
Smartbot is a testament to persistence, innovation, and the power of collaboration. This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of the team, the support of Munster Technological University, and the belief in the impact this technology will have on customer experiences.
